The lakefront, with 193 ft of waterfront, has a sandy shallow entry; ideal for children of all ages. The beach area is perfect for water sports and boating.  A canoe and paddles are provided.  There is a fire pit, a horseshoe pit, a ping pong table in the garage and a badminton area.

Fall activities in Haliburton are numerous. The 10 to 15 minute walk to the centre of town, mostly on waterside trails is delightful. Enjoy the studio tour each year on the weekend before Thanksgiving as well as on the weekend of Thanksgiving. Try to guess which of the unique and numerous scarecrows, which adorn the town, will win the scarecrow contest.

A winter getaway at Bolender is ideal with excellent access from the highway, a hill on the property for tobogganing, ice fishing on the lake (and Grass Lake is known for great fishing), as well as very close proximity to ski and snowmobile trails.

March break in the Highlands is especially enjoyable. The longer days are particularily pleasant at the Bolender cottage with its sunny southern exposure and unobstructed view.
